2009 NMRA Convention, Hartford CT July 10 - 12, 2009

Valley N-Trak of Connecticut won 1st place at the convention show for a group entry in the module contest. The club had coordinated the N-Trak layout which included modules from 7 N-Trak clubs (Albany N-Trak, Brooklyn N-Trak, Central Valley N-Trak, Northeast N-Trak, Philadelphia N-Trak, Salt City N-Trak and Valley N-Trak of CT). The entire layout was 82 feet by 46 feet (around 8 ½ scale miles) and took anywhere from 15-20 minutes to make a complete circuit of the layout. The layout included two brand new inside corners built by Dick Brown and Bill Pontin. John Kent laid the track work on the new corners and Art Frankforter wired the corners.
Dick Brown and Bill Pontin handled the layout design and coordinating with the folks from the other clubs who brought modules. Art Frankforter handled the coordination of the electrical. Art and Hill Frankforter handled the setup of the DCC system on the red line

   Valley N-Trak

Valley N-Trak is a non-profit organization of model railroad enthusiasts promoting the N scale module concept as a viable operational system. The club was established in 1976 with five members meeting in the basement of a local hobby store. We now hold monthly informal organizational and construction meetings as posted above. Present membership is approximately 30. Membership is open to all with the only requirements being $10.00 annual dues, and that you build an operating module within 1 year.
